School Story:
Watching the recent Ken Burns series on Vietnam, brought back many memories from the '60's and early 70's. One New Trier school day many of us marched in protest against the Vietnam war. That experience taught me that you can lose your identity and sense of personal responsibility when part of a crowd. It was a good experience to protest, which I continued to do. I regret that the brave American soldiers who fought and died for our country in Vietnam, right or wrong, were not respected and treated better after the war.
Our country is again in need of political action in an ever more complicated and changing world. Hopefully the class of '71 can again make a difference for the benefit of all people, the environment and the animals, individually and/or collectively.
