I was hired at the FBI in September, 1981, and have lived in Virginia for the past 29 years. I will retire in September 2011. I met my husband, Randy, at the FBI, and we married in 1995. We adopted Hannah from China in 2000, and she is the joy of our lives.
I've enjoyed a very challenging and rewarding career at the FBI, where I have served in the position of Ombudsman since 1997. As Ombudsman, I help FBI employees worldwide in resolving difficult work issues which touch on all manner of administrative, leadership and operational concerns. I report directly to the Director of the FBI, Robert Mueller, and I've learned a lot about leadership through him. Recently, I have been on load to the FDIC assisting Chairman Sheila Bair in developing an Ombudsman program for the FDIC. It has been an honor to serve two of the most respected leaders in government.
I am looking forward to retiring and spending more time in Wilmette visiting my mom, sisters, brothers and extended family. I also want to write a book about my life experiences.
