Paula Jean O'Malley Montgomery September 24, 1953 ~ June 11, 2016 

Paula Jean Montgomery, 62, of Rockford passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. Born September 24, 1953 in Chicago to William D. and Phyllis (Hall) O’Malley. Received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Married Reid Montgomery on June 7, 1975 in Winnetka. Employed as an accountant at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and Elk Grove Unified School District, Elk Grove, CA. Paula volunteered at Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, was a master gardener, loved antiques, and collected sea shells. Survivors include husband, Reid Montgomery of Rockford; son, Michael (Nicole) Montgomery of Mill Valley, CA; parents, William D. and Phyllis O’Malley; brothers, Bill (Jan) O’Malley, Brian O’Malley; sisters, Diane (Rich) O’Malley Krzywonos, Jackie (Dan) O’Malley Walsh; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, 2715 S.
