Alison Jean Zehr, a longtime leader in Chicago arts organizations and non-profits, died of cancer at Evanston Hospital on March 25, 2023. She was 69. The daughter of William Zehr and Elizabeth Murray Zehr, Alison was born in Evanston. Alison is survived by her sister, Judy Zehr; her brother, Robert Zehr; her nieces, Madeleine Zehr and Emma Overton; her nephew, Will Overton; 8 cousins; and a host of friends. Burial will be private. A celebration of Alison's life is planned for Sunday, June 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Woman Made Gallery, 2150 S. Canalport Ave., 4A-3. Remarks and remembrances will begin at 3 pm.
